Empowering You Through Rest
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra means the sleep that is yoga or the yoga of sleep. All you need is a comfortable place to lie down and listen which makes it one of the most accessible yoga practices.
When do it?
Before you go to sleep to help you have a restful night
During the night if you find yourself awake
When you wake up in the morning to start your day rested & nourished
As a break during the day to reset and recharge
Why do it?
Most people don’t know how to truly rest and many of our things we do for rest are distraction techniques that deplete our energy and frazzle our nervous systems, or numb us. We don’t need to beat ourselves up about this but I think it is important to recognise the difference between entertainment and distraction, numbing ourselves, and truly resting.
With such levels of exhaustion in society it so important to prioritise rest and I also know how difficult that can be. We are taught to “keep calm and carry on”, we have a million responsibilities and feel that we have no time for ourselves. And we feel guilty and sometimes even scared to truly stop.
But if we don’t prioritise rest we will eventually get to the point where we cannot carry on and we cannot meet any of our responsibilities well.
Yoga Nidra is one simple way you can help to readdress that balance.
Yoga Nidra can help you to relax, sleep better and enjoy more focus and creativity. Studies have also shown that Yoga Nidra alleviates chronic pain, insomnia and stress.
More than rest…
When you regularly engage with Yoga Nidra you are realigning your sense of self, reconnecting to your heart wisdom and your true nature.
